This project is located along the Williams-Barneveld stream. Wetlands and stream conditions have been severely degraded from 3-5 feet of sedimentation. Removal of sediment will expose wetland soils and basins which have been filled with sediment. With the removal of sediment the floodplain will be restored. This will improve bank stabilization along a ˝ mile of trout stream. A few oxbows will be restored increasing stream length and restoring wetlands within those oxbows. Drain tile lines will also be removed fully restoring the hydrology to the site. Shallow basins throughout the floodplain will provide wetland habitat to many permanent and migratory wildlife species. This site is located on Mounds View Rd about 3.5 miles south of HWY 151 in Bringham township. Mounds View Rd is 2 miles east of Barneveld. |
