August 27, 2020 Waukesha County Chapter Banquet Information

Banquet Info and Changes Since the Event Rescheduling to August 27th:

WWA Waukesha County Banquet on August 27, 2020 – WE ARE STILL A GO!!!

We have three great options for our attendees:

  1. Roast Duck Dinner at the Golden Mast in Okauchee – W349 N5293 Lacy’s Lane, Okauchee, WI, or
  2. Pig Roast at the Rustic Manor 1848 in Hartland – 3115 State Road 83, Hartland, WI, or
  3. Stay Home and Stay Safe

This has been a very tough time for everyone, and the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association appreciates the patience our membership has had regarding the rescheduling of this event.  In early March, the event was nearly sold out, but then we had to reschedule to August.  Lots has changed since, and we are anxious to have the first sit down dinners for our state organization.  In the event large group gatherings are restricted, the raffle structure outlined below will permit us to move forward, even if we were forced to cancel the in person, sit down dinner!

What does this mean?

  1. Without the lifting of the present restriction this July, we have had to modify the format of this banquet.
  2. With the threat of a COVID-19 spike and potential tightening of the current restrictions, there is a well thought out plan covering this aspect.
  3. Our awesome selection of guns are bought, which was a tough endeavor given current inventories and selections on the market.

How will this take place?

  1. For one of the first times ever, we will be holding two events simultaneously, due to social distancing recommendations.
    1. Half the group will be at the Golden Mast in Okauchee with a duck dinner.
    2. The other half of the group will meet at the Rustic Manor 1848 located on Highway 83 in Hartland.
  2. All gun board tickets bought for the April banquet will be converted to a Class A (need not be present to win) raffle.
    1. We will pick in order of gun value with all tickets in one drum.
    2. The Class A allows participants not to be present to win, which is needed with two venues.
    3. The flexibility allows participants to be Safer at Home while still having a chance to win.
    4. A portion of available tickets will be on sale online.
    5. Remaining tickets will be available banquet night at both locations, as supplies last.
  3. All banquet guns and sponsor prizes will be made into a Class A raffle (need not be present to win) with the same benefits listed above.
    1. In the event of a cancellation, dinner costs can be converted to the Class A raffle for the banquet guns and prizes!
    2. Those that wish to stay home can still partake in the banquet prizes by converting dinner costs to raffle tickets.
    3. A portion of available tickets will be on sale on line.
    4. Remaining tickets will be available the night of at both locations, as supplies last.

How will I be contacted?

All that ordered dinner tickets, sponsorships or table packages will be called to find out their preference of venue or staying safe at home.  Tables of ten will be contacted in order of purchase for preference, and then the remaining will be contacted in order of their online ticket purchase date and time.

Will this be the same great Waukesha County banquet we have grown to love?

With social distancing and reduced touch points by volunteers and attendees, we are doing our best to plan two unique events.  There will be silent auctions, two sets of walk around guns and prizes, additional Class A raffles from the state, and much more at both sites.  The Golden Mast will be our traditional venue for a more formal banquet and we will have a more informal atmosphere and pig roast at the Rustic Manor 1848.  Both should be a great time!

Can I buy more dinner tickets?

Unfortunately, we were nearly sold out, but still had some tables open.  With the current gatherings restriction in Waukesha County and COVID-19 numbers rising, we are concerned with opening up these seats.  After all attendees have been contacted, we may have single dinner tickets available by early August.  Online ticket sales for the gun board and banquet prizes allows participation from home regardless, which is why they are being sold in limited quantities to those that may have missed their opportunity to join the banquet in March.

We look forward to seeing everyone again.  For those that choose safer at home, we are very grateful for your support during these tough times.

Sincerely,

Mike Alaimo, Waukesha County Chapter Chairman – malaimo73@gmail.com
